Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
I did a sub-internship at Valley Children’s Hospital during my fourth year of medical school, which gave me the opportunity to experience first-hand the Program’s emphasis on team work and collaboration among all members of the care team, including physicians, nurses, social workers and translators. I chose Valley Children's because I knew that the Program would provide a supportive and nurturing environment, allowing me to learn and grow to be the best pediatrician that I can be. Valley Children's strives to provide integrative and compassionate care, which aligns with my goals and values.
Hobbies:
Spending time with family and friends, backpacking, snowboarding, skiing, paddle boarding, swimming in mountain lakes, reading, puzzles, board games and snuggling with my cat Boo.
Advocacy and Research Accomplishments:
My areas of advocacy interest include mental health awareness as well as preventative care for children of families of low socioeconomic status. My research background includes identifying the molecular mechanisms responsible for the expression of GABA receptors in the brain.
Care Philosophy:
I believe in bridging the gaps in medicine and challenging health care disparities to foster a practice that emphasizes equal, compassionate and high quality healthcare, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender or religion.
