Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program?
I chose to come to Valley Children’s because of the genuine vibe and passion for kids that resonates amongst our residency program leadership. I am continually inspired by the gratitude expressed by our patient population and the range of pathology present in the Central Valley.

Clinical Research and Advocacy:
My clinical research is focused on Disseminated Coccidoidomycosis (Valley Fever), which I presented at the 2018 IDSA Annual Conference in San Francisco. I also organized the inaugural Adolescent Reproductive Health Symposium at Valley Children's Hospital with my co-resident, Dr. Cristina Vargas, to educate providers in the Central Valley, where the teen birth rate is almost twice the national average. I enjoy volunteering with the Fresno County School District Mobile Health Unit and Migrant Health Clinics throughout the Central Valley.

Hobbies:
Backpacking or cross-country skiing in Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks – all just a short drive away! Cycling, baking muffins and playing ukulele.

Future goals:
After residency, I plan to return to Chico to join my mom’s pediatric rural health clinic.
