Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
During my sub-internship rotation, I was impressed by everyone I met at Valley Children’s. The hospital residents, attendings and staff foster such a welcoming environment where students, patients and their families can feel comfortable to learn, grow and heal. I witnessed the excellent patient-centered care given to each individual and I could not wait to join this phenomenal group.
Hobbies:
Crafting/decorating, being a dog mom, supporting local farmers markets, trying new foods, singing musical show tunes, wine tasting, hiking, yoga/cycling/Pilates
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
Pediatric access to care, child nutrition, vaccination and antibiotic stewardship. My previous research projects focused on smoking cessation with a pharmacological approach, molecular epidemiology of a viral outbreak in a nosocomial setting, and bacterial antibiotic resistance with a role of synergistic medications to combat this phenomenon.
Care Philosophy:
As an osteopathic physician, I consider my treatment plan knowing that the person is a component of body, mind and spirit in which all aspects need attention. When the patient, family and care team work together with a bond of mutual respect, we can create the ideal healing environment for our children who deserve the best.
