Valley Children’s Named Solutions for Patient Safety Hospital of the Month

(Madera, California) -- Valley Children’s has been named the Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) Hospital of the Month for October 2022. The SPS network is comprised of more than 145 hospitals and is driven by the shared goal to urgently reduce and then eliminate serious harm for children cared for in hospitals. This award is given to a noteworthy hospital that has demonstrated outstanding work in pediatric patient safety.

“This acknowledgement reinforces the hard work and endless commitment of Valley Children’s staff who continuously exceed quality standards of care,” said Raed Khoury, Valley Children’s vice president of quality, patient safety and clinical value. “Patient safety at Valley Children’s depends on systems that anticipate and prevent errors before they cause harm so that we can ensure children across the Central Valley receive the highest level of care that is safe and ranked among the best in the country.”

This is one of many national recognitions Valley Children’s has received that reinforce the pediatric healthcare network’s commitment to excellence. Valley Children’s was the first children’s hospital west of the Rockies to receive Magnet Nursing designation, the highest nursing benchmark in the world. Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report again named Valley Children’s one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in six pediatric specialties.
