About

Board certified by the American Board of Urology with subspecialty certification in pediatric urology, Dr. Scott Berkman joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric urologist in February 2017. His clinical interests include hypospadias, hydronephrosis, hydrocele, vesicoureteral reflux and neurogenic bladder.
 
With more than 15 years’ experience in his field, Dr. Berkman came to Valley Children’s from Valley Care Clinics in McAllen Texas. Previously he worked in private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Phoenix, Arizona, and at Pediatric Urology Associates in Phoenix, Arizona.
 
Dr. Berkman has presented on topics in his field. He has published his work in peer-reviewed publications such as “Journal of Urology,” “Urology” and “Human Molecular Genetics.”
 
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a diplomate of the American Urological Association.
 
Dr. Berkman received his medical degree from the University of Texas at Dallas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He did his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed a fellowship in pediatric urology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
In his free time, he enjoys jogging, bicycling, playing tennis and golf, scuba diving, traveling and spending time with his two sons.
