Dr. Ege Ozdemir joined the Willson Heart Center at Valley Children’s in 2022 as a pediatric cardiologist. Double board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics with specialized training in pulmonary vascular disease, Dr. Ozdemir provides heart care services at Valley Children’s main hospital campus in Madera and at Akers Specialty Care Center in Visalia. 

Dr. Ozdemir earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, where he also completed an internship and residency in pediatrics. He continued his training as a pediatric cardiology fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD before completing a senior cardiology fellowship in pediatric pulmonary hypertension at Stanford University. 

An active researcher, Dr. Ozdemir has published research in several peer-reviewed academic journals, including Annals of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Cardiology Today. He has also presented his research in oral and poster presentations at a variety of physician conferences at the state, national and international levels. His research interests includes branch pulmonary artery stenosis and cardiac shunt interventions.

Aside from his clinical duties, Dr. Ozdemir is committed to community service through volunteerism. During his years as a member of the Student National Medical Association, he provided flu shots and hypertension, diabetes and head/neck cancer screenings to underserved communities. He was awarded membership to the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2014 by his physician colleagues at Saint Louis University in recognition of his continued displays of integrity, excellence, compassion, altruism and empathy. Dr. Ozdemir is dedicated to bringing this dedication to excellence and compassion to the children and adolescents with congenital and acquired cardiovascular disease he cares for at Valley Children’s.

In his personal time, Dr. Ozdemir enjoys competitive rock climbing, ultimate frisbee and playing Magic: The Gathering (a tabletop card game).
