Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Catherine Beaumier joined Valley Children’s in 2018.

Dr. Beaumier is certified in general surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In addition, she holds certifications from Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Definitive Surgical the Trauma Care (DSTC) course. She holds additional certifications in advanced trauma life support (ATLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery (FLS). Dr. Beaumier has been published in peer review publications such as the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. She has also presented her research at the University of Montreal, Department of Surgery Scientific Research Day and the North Pacific Surgical Association Pediatric Surgery Symposium. Her poster presentations have received recognitions including second best poster presentation award at the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (CAPS) meeting, and third place in best resident presentation from the British Columbia Surgical Society.

Dr. Beaumier received her medical degree from University of Montreal in Canada in 2011. She went onto complete her residency in general surgery at University of British Columbia, where she was chief resident in 2015. She completed her fellowship in pediatric surgery at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Sainte-Justine.

In addition to enjoying the outdoors through hiking and camping, Dr. Beaumier enjoys adventurous activities including sea kayaking and cross-country skiing. She is fluent in French and English.
