  • 2019 Resident Teacher of the Year
Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Enrique Valladares joined Valley Children’s in 2019 as a pediatric hospitalist.

Dr. Valladares is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Respiratory Research and the American Journal of Infection Control.

He received his medical degree from the Jose Maria Vargas School of Medicine at Central University of Venezuela. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Valladares worked in a pediatric emergency room in a rural area in Venezuela. He then completed observerships at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Florida. Dr. Valladares went on to complete a pediatric residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he founded and served as a member of a resident wellness committee aimed at reducing burnout and improving resident well-being.

Dr. Valladares spent time in Venezuela providing medical assistance to underserved populations. In addition to his passion for volunteering, he enjoys playing his guitar, cooking, aviation and golfing. He is fluent in English and Spanish
