About

Dr. Bianca Castellanos is board certified in general and cardiac pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined the cardiology team at Valley Children’s Willson Heart Center in 2021. 

Prior to Valley Children’s, Dr. Castellanos served in the Air Force Reserve as a major in the pediatric medical unit. With extensive pediatric experience, she was also an associate physician for pediatric cardiology at University of California, Davis Children’s Hospital, part of the emergency department staff at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and the general pediatrics inpatient staff at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. 

Passionate about heart health and advocacy, Dr. Castellanos has served various organizations such as Project Automated Defibulator in Adam’s Memory (ADAM) in the capacity of medical director, where she focused on community awareness of sudden cardiac death prevention. Dr. Castellanos has shared her expertise through various manuscripts, lectures, posters and peer-reviewed journals such as Congenital Cardiology Today and Clinical Dysmorphology

Dr. Castellanos earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at University of California, Irvine through Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology from Louisiana State University through Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and in pediatric electrophysiology through The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) which is affiliated with the University of Toronto, Canada.
