Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Kevin Shimamoto joined Valley Children’s Hospital in October 2014 as vice president and chief information officer. In his role, Kevin’s responsibility includes ensuring the Hospital’s information and security systems best support the organization’s strategic plan.
Prior to assuming his new position, Kevin served as interim vice president and chief development officer at Valley Children’s for six months. He has extensive executive IT leadership experience with more than 30 years in healthcare IT. In addition, he has more than 20 years of Meditech hospital experience resulting in strong connections with Meditech and related partner vendors. Throughout his career, Kevin has served in many IT senior executive positions and is a well-respected IT leader across the region.
Kevin is a member of several professional organizations, including Medical Users Software Exchange (MUSE); Hospital Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS); Avaya Telecommunications Users Group; and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
The San Joaquin Valley native received his associate of science degree in electronics at Reedley College in Reedley, Calif.; a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology at California State University, Fresno; and a Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego, Calif.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys playing golf and weight-lifting.
