Jane Willson, Senior VP and Chief Strategy Officer

Jane Willson is senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Valley Children’s. She is responsible for the strategies and initiatives that create mid- and long-term growth for the enterprise, and for positioning and differentiating Valley Children’s Healthcare and its affiliates in critical and emerging markets. In this role, Jane is also responsible for developing and implementing the population health analytics system throughout the Valley Children’s network, providing administrative direction to the functions of strategic planning, new business development, and business/physician relations, and more.  

Jane came to Valley Children’s in 2002. In 2007, she was named vice president, corporate development, in which she oversaw the business development/strategic planning and marketing/communication departments for a decade. Under Jane’s leadership, key accomplishments included the development of Children’s 101, a half-day event that offers community leaders a behind-the-scenes, hands-on look at Valley Children’s exceptional care; clinical partnerships in which Valley Children’s collaborates with local healthcare facilities and providers to improve pediatric care; regional expansion efforts that resulted in partnerships with numerous local facilities for inpatient services and expansion of our services throughout the region; and several, large-scale marketing campaigns. She also led the rebranding of Valley Children’s, to return to our original name.

Prior to this role, Jane was vice president, ambulatory and physician support services at Valley Children’s.

Jane has extensive experience in leadership positions in pediatric healthcare settings on both the East and West Coasts. She came to Valley Children’s from Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University, where she was vice president for ambulatory care and physician services. Prior to that, she worked in Atlanta, Georgia, at companies such as ESR Children’s Health Care System, Inc., Egleston Pediatric Group, Inc., and Arthur Andersen, LLP. Before venturing into healthcare, Jane held several executive positions in the retail industry.

Jane served for six years on the board for Exceptional Parents Unlimited, a center that works to strengthen and empower children and families facing extraordinary medical, developmental and parenting challenges.

Jane received a bachelor of arts from Wellesley College in Massachusetts and earned her Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.
