La Tienda Guild (1952)
La Tienda Thrift Shop opened its doors the same year as Valley Children’s Hospital, and has raised over $2 Million. The thrift shop is one of the oldest of its kind in Fresno and is staffed entirely by La Tienda Guild members.
Over the decades La Tienda Guild, much like the Valley Children's, has grown and expanded. In 1966, it moved from its original site on Van Ness Ave. to a house on Fulton Street and finally to its current home in the Tower District.
La Tienda Thrift Shop offers all that a thrift shop can offer and more – from household items and clothes, to jewelry and collectibles. They depend entirely on tax-deductible donations from the public to restock their shop. People can drop off their donations at the thrift shop and at donation houses in Fig Garden Village or Valley Children’s Hospital.
All are invited to join La Tienda Guild, but be prepared to work weekly shifts at the shop, build friendships and raise funds for Valley Children’s!
La Tienda Guild joins the other Guilds of Valley Children's in support of the $5M Guilds Center for Community Health endowment.
