Lumps and Bumps
We perform removal of skin or soft tissue growths - from tumors, cysts, concerning/giant moles, to any other congenital bulge or protrusion.
We specialize in restoring form and function following an injury or other traumatic accident – from fractures, facial injuries, hand and upper extremity injuries, burns or complex wounds. Our plastic surgeons are experts in tissue repair, closure after orthopaedic trauma, and grafting of skin, soft tissue, bones, nerves, tendons and joints, including microsurgical and flap reconstruction.
Valley Children’s subspecialists and plastic surgeons treat abnormal growth of blood vessels such as vascular malformations and hemangiomas through laser surgery, chemotherapy, immune suppressant medications, or sclerotherapy by the interventional radiology team.
Our team collaborates with multidisciplinary services on the complex planning and delivery of surgical procedures. These pediatric specialties include genetic medicine, otolaryngology, orthopaedics, emergency department, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, speech pathology, psychology, anesthesiology, radiology and medical imaging.
We provide telemedicine support for plastic and reconstructive surgery cases at our specialty care centers in Modesto, Bakersfield and Visalia to improve access to high-quality care. It becomes a means for providers and their patients to get support from pediatric subspecialists by using the latest telecommunication technologies. Telemedicine also allows children and their families to stay closer to home, especially if they live in rural areas around the Central Valley.
