Pharmacy Students and New Graduates

Valley Children's Hospital is a rotation site for pharmacy students to complete their advanced pharmacy practice experiences. These experiences concentrate on the identification, resolution and prevention of drug related problems. Other practice functions involving pharmaceutical care system management may also be incorporated into the rotational experience depending on the type of rotation and the primary preceptors in charge of the rotation. Students here will be expected to focus on patient specific drug use, monitoring of individual patient’s drug therapy, and professional communication of ideas, information and analysis to other healthcare professionals, colleagues, patients and patient families. As part of the rotation, students will be required to complete projects and present patient cases designed to encourage critical assessment of medication therapy and to demonstrate the student’s knowledge about the role and function of a pharmacist in a clinical setting.
