Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Screening

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are stressful or traumatic events children experience before the age of 18. They affect a minimum of 18 percent of children in Fresno, Kern, Madera, Merced and Tulare Counties placing these kids at significantly higher risk for health, behavioral and learning difficulties. The ACEs screening tool assesses a child’s exposure to trauma across the following three broad categories: abuse, neglect and household dysfunction. This screening helps facilitate referrals for follow-up care and attention when needed.
