Each football season, we team up with Fresno State for a once in a lifetime experience for a few lucky patients. At every home football game, one Valley Children’s patient is selected to be the Kid Captain of the game. They get to participate in the coin toss with the team, along with being part of the on-field festivities. For the 2024 season, we have six special Kid Captains to introduce you to the day before each big game!

Meet Reed!

Reed is a 3rd grader who loves reading, playing the piano and participating in Valley Children's adaptive sports program.

At age four, Reed was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome by our Charlie Mitchell Children's Center and is cared for by several pediatric specialists at Valley Children’s Hospital.

When this 8-year-old grows up, he wants to be a scientist!

Join us in giving Reed a big Bulldog welcome as we cheer him and Fresno State Football on during their last home game of the season!
