About Me
Dr. Shane Forsting joined the orthopaedic team at Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in 2023.
After earning his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University, where he graduated with distinction and first in his class, Dr. Forsting went on to complete residency in orthopaedic surgery at Doctors Hospital through Ohio Health, and then a pediatric fellowship in orthopaedics at Stanford Children’s Health.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Forsting worked at Dublin Methodist and Nationwide Children’s Hospitals, as well as at Des Moines University as a teaching assistant.
Dr. Forsting has specialized training in fracture management. His research on the impact of early weight bearing on ankle fracture outcomes was published in the peer-reviewed journal Orthopedics.
