After Delivery

Today’s diagnostic tools enable our team to detect signs of certain birth defects at the earliest stages of fetal development. Because the majority can be treated immediately after birth, we work with an expert team of Valley Children’s newborn care subspecialists in treating congenital anomalies.

When a baby needs extra care after birth, Valley Children’s neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and inpatient clinical partners are located around the Valley to help your baby stay closer to home. Our highly trained NICU staff treat the special needs exclusive to medically fragile newborns and are experienced in managing the most complex cases.

If a baby needs the highest level of care, our medical transport team of pediatric nurses and respiratory therapists can transport your baby to our Regional Level IV NICU in Madera.
