Interventional Catheterization Outcomes

Valley Children’s Hospital's Cardiac Catheterization program offers state-of-the-art pediatric diagnostic and?interventional procedures for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, which require treatment for conditions such as a narrowing or blockage of blood flow, including device closure of cardiac defects, balloon valvuloplasties, angioplasty, stent implantation and percutaneous valve implantations.

For decades, our team has been a leader in using minimally invasive alternatives for the repair of congenital heart defects, such as the Melody™ Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve for replacement of failing, surgically placed pulmonary valves. Our program is actively involved in local and national clinical trials.

** IMPACT–National Cardiovascular Data Registry through the American College of Cardiology. The IMPACT Registry® assesses the prevalence, demographics, management and outcomes of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease (CHD) patients who undergo diagnostic catheterizations and catheter-based interventions. Its data support the development of evidence-based guidelines for CHD treatment that will improve outcomes for CHD patients of all ages.
