Vascular Malformations Program

Vascular malformations and hemangiomas are abnormal growths of blood vessels. Treatment for vascular malformations depends on the type of malformation. Our multidisciplinary team of subspecialists – oncologists, pediatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, radiologists, ophthalmologists and other specialists collectively meet each month to discuss the right treatment plan for each patient.

Treatments may include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Immune suppressant medications
  • Laser therapy
  • Surgery
  • Or sclerotherapy - injection of a clotting (sclerosing) medicine into the vein
