Each football season, we team up with Fresno State for a once in a lifetime experience for a few lucky patients. At every home football game, one Valley Children’s patient is selected to be Kid Captain of the game where they get to participate in the coin toss with the team, along with being part of the on-field festivities. For the 2024 season, we have six special Kid Captains to introduce you as they gear up to help Fresno State Football!

Meet Caroline!

Caroline is a fun-loving 9-year-old who loves to dance and play with her friends.

At just 5 years old, Caroline was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of cancer that develops in the bones. After receiving chemotherapy at Valley Children’s Hospital from our care teams, she is now in remission and enjoying the fourth grade! Caroline is not only representing the Bulldogs on the field, but all who have been affected by childhood cancer.

When Caroline grows up, she wants to be a child life specialist at a pediatric hospital to help children understand and cope with hospitalization just like her child life specialists did for her.

Cheer on Caroline and the Bulldogs as they face Sacramento State at Valley Children’s Stadium on September 7!
