About Me
Dr. Usama Younis joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a neonatologist at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia in June 2017. He is board certified and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Medical Association.
Before his current role, Dr. Younis was an attending neonatologist with Unity Point Health Systems in Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was also a neonatology fellow at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in New York where he cared for critically ill newborns and premature infants as well as providing education and supervision to residents and medical students.
Dr. Younis has had several peer-reviewed presentations, clinical and research presentations and publications during his career. His research interests include mechanical ventilation in newborn infants and genetic basis of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in newborns. Dr. Younis has also been an assistant pediatric lecturer at Menoufia University in Egypt.
In his off time, he enjoys astronomy, soccer, fishing and family activities.
