Sourabh Sharma, MD

Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Sourabh Sharma joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Doctors Medical Center in August 2026.

Dr. Sharma received his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Detroit Medical Center, affiliated with Wayne State University, where he served as chief resident. During his time there, Dr. Sharma was recognized by the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine for Excellence in Obstetrics and earned multiple medical awards for obstetrical care, gynecology and gynecological oncology. He then pursued his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, while also working as an assistant instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In addition to his training, Dr. Sharma has shared his expertise through several publications in peer-reviewed journals, such as Neuroinformatics, Behavioral Brain Research and Radiant Research. His research explores various topics including brain development and brain health, with some studies focusing on brain injuries, others on spinal cord injuries and some examining how spinal cord injuries can affect brain function.

Aside from being a technology enthusiast, Dr. Sharma enjoys cooking, woodworking and spending time outdoors, whether camping or hiking.
