About Me
Dr. Shadi Alsmadi joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in August 2025 as a neonatologist at Kaweah Health in Visalia.
After receiving his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery from Lugansk State Medical University in Ukraine, Dr. Alsmadi completed his pediatric residency and fellowship at King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Jordan. Dedicated to improving the health of newborns and children, he pursued advanced specialization in neonatal-perinatal medicine, earning a high-specialty degree in medicine and pediatrics from Jordan University of Science and Technology. His commitment led him to complete a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, as well as an additional pediatric residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York.
Dr. Alsmadi’s passion for neonatology is further reflected in his academic and service contributions. He has published in the International Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics and presented poster and oral presentations at various meetings and conferences, such as the Pediatric Academic Societies Annual Meeting, and maintains an active research agenda. He has also dedicated significant time to volunteer service in various pediatric care and training roles, including service at American Heart Association-affiliated training centers.
