About Me
Dr. Sayeh Akhavan joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a pediatric hospitalist in August 2026.
Dr. Akhavan has published peer-reviewed research in the journal Psychopharmacology and has presented at conferences, including the Children's Oncology Conference and the Western Medical Research Conference. In addition to her mentorship and advocacy activities, Dr. Akhavan has volunteered to support her community at various events with organizations such as St. Agnes Hospice, Central California Food Bank in Fresno and Kaweah Delta Health.
After receiving her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, Dr. Akhavan went on to complete a pediatric residency at Valley Children’s Hospital, affiliated with the Stanford University School of Medicine. During her residency, she was appointed as the Alternate Student Delegate for the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Pediatrics Trainees and later served as the District Resident CATCH Liaison for District IX, helping represent residents nationally and promote child health in the community.
Dr. Akhavan is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians.
