About Me
Board certified in general pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Sanket Jani joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in October 2025 as a neonatologist.
Dr. Jani earned his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery from Smt. Nathiba Hargovandas Lakhmichand Municipal Medical College, affiliated with Gujarat University, in India. He completed his pediatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York and later completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Sparrow Hospital, affiliated with Michigan State University.
He previously served as a neonatologist at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and associate professor of pediatrics at Central Michigan University School of Medicine. In his current role, he serves in the NICU at Valley Children’s Hospital and also provides care at affiliate sites including Community Regional Medical Center and Clovis Community Hospital. Dr. Jani is also a clinical associate professor at UCSF School of Medicine.
Dr. Jani has made significant contributions to scholarly work, presenting at national and regional conferences, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Academic Society, as well as through intramural oral presentations. His area of interest in research is infants affected by opiate withdrawal, as well as baby with hypoxia-ischemia during delivery. His research has been featured in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Neuroscience Research, Pediatric Pulmonology, Journal of Perinatology and others.
Additionally, in his previous job at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, he served as site principal investigator for National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)/National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research to improve the care of neonates affected by opioid withdrawal. He has participated in multiple quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing neonatal care.
Active in his field, Dr. Jani is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Society of Pediatric Research Junior Section, the Society of Michigan Neonatologists, the Children’s Hospital National Consortium and the Indian Medical Council. He has been involved in affiliated medical organizations, committee work and scholarly service, contributing to the education and mentorship of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
