About Me
Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and a a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), Dr. Sameh Elshahawy joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a neonatologist at Valley Children’s partnering hospital, Kaweah Health, in Visalia in November 2025.
Dr. Elshahawy earned his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery from Cairo University in Egypt. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Richmond University Medical Center at Staten Island, New York, and went on to complete his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Dr. Elshahawy has contributed to research through poster and abstract presentations at various meetings and conferences, including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, covering topics in endocrinology, neonatal infectious diseases and quality improvement.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Elshahawy enjoys playing soccer, hiking and completing DIY projects.
