About Me
Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology, Dr. Nianzhou Xiao joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in 2019.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Xiao was a pediatric nephrologist at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. While there, she also served as an attending physician for nephrology fellows and pediatric residents.
Dr. Xiao is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology. She is also assistant chair of the Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Consortium, hypertension group. Dr. Xiao has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Pediatric Urology, Kidney International and Obesity. She has also presented her research at several conferences, including the Pediatric Academic Societies annual conference and the National Kidney Foundation clinical conference.
Dr. Xiao received her medical degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in China. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, as well as a residency in pediatrics at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Texas. Dr. Xiao then completed her fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio.
