Miriam Ahmad, MD

Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics, Dr. Miriam Ahmad joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in August 2025 as a pediatric hospitalist. 

After receiving her medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Dr. Ahmad went on to complete a post-graduate pediatric residency at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Ahmad continued her academic journey through a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Valley Children’s Hospital. Prior to her current role, Dr. Ahmad served as a pediatric community hospitalist at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois.

Dr. Ahmad brings dedication to learning and research, some of which include improving infection-control practices as well as investigating healthcare disparities in access to hospital-based medicine. In addition, Dr. Ahmad has presented her research in poster presentations at several conferences and symposiums regionally and nationally. Her work has also been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Preventative Medicine, and Society of Hospital Medicine Library. 

Dr. Ahmad has also received honors and awards including the Outstanding Global Health Resident Award (2022). In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading and cooking.
