About Me

Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology and the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Dr. Laxmi Ghimire joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in 2026 as a pediatric cardiologist at Valley Children’s Willson Heart Center. Dr. Ghimire is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno and as the director of research for the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF Fresno.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Ghimire was an attending physician specializing in pediatrics and cardiology at Concord Hospital-Laconia in Laconia, New Hampshire, while also an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.

Dr. Ghimire received his medical degree from Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine in Kathmandu, Nepal and completed his postdoctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He went on to complete pediatric residency training at the University of Kansas in Kansas City and his clinical fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of California, San Franscisco. While completing his clinical fellowship, he conducted cardiovascular research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease in San Francisco.

Dr. Ghimire’s research contributions have been recognized by the UCSF Fresno Faculty Research Award, and his work is featured on national medical podcasts including RearchMD and PediHeart.
