About Me
Board certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Katrina Ibonia joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a neonatologist in 2020. 
Prior to her current role, Dr. Ibonia was a neonatologist at Guam Regional Medical City in Guam. She also worked in general pediatrics at Buhangin Medical and Children’s Clinic in the Philippines. 
Passionate about her field, she has shared her extensive research on various conditions of neonatal and preterm infants through several posters, presentations and lectures. Dr. Ibonia also shared her findings on red blood cell transfusions for preterm infants in Transfusions, a peer reviewed journal. 
Dr. Ibonia earned her medical degree from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines. She completed her pediatric residency at St. Joseph’s Medical Center through Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New Jersey, and her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Kentucky Children’s Hospital through the University of Kentucky. Also through the University of Kentucky, Dr. Ibonia earned a graduate certificate and masters in medical science for clinical and translational science. 
Dr. Ibonia is fluent in English, Tagalog and Cebuano.
