About Me
Board certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Jacquelyn Benner joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a pediatric critical care specialist in December 2025. In addition to serving at Valley Children’s Hospital, Dr. Benner provides care at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Benner earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, affiliated with the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She then went on to complete a pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Rady’s Children’s Hospital, affiliated with the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Benner is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She has presented research through poster presentations and contributed to medical education through grand rounds and formal lectures. She has also served on hospital committees, mainly focusing on quality improvement, and volunteers in the community through home-building projects and teaching the public about various health topics.
