About Me

Maternal-fetal medicine specialist Dr. Ghislain Hardy is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His career spans clinical and academic positions across the United States and Canada, including his most recent position as the Director of Obstetrical Ultrasound and Assistant Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Montreal in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Hardy completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Hardy then continued his training with a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine from the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada, and a Master of Science in Health Economics, Policies and Management from the London (UK) School of Economics. He is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hardy has held leadership positions in both the clinical and academic settings. He was an elected board member of the Texas Perinatal Association and a physician leader with TexasAIM, a quality improvement project from the Department of State Health Services focused on maternal and child health. Throughout his academic career, he has served on several professional committees spanning topics including ethics, quality assurance and performance improvement, finance and medical education.

Dr. Hardy is a regular peer reviewer for research publications in his field, including Journal of Perinatal Medicine Fetal and Pediatric Pathology, and has a substantial research portfolio of his own. He has presented his work at symposia, grand rounds, workshops and conferences, and has published in peer-reviewed journals, including Life, Journal of Clinical Medicine, and Molecular Genetics and Genomic Medicine. In recent years, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Hardy published research on the history of coronavirus in pregnancy.
