About Me
Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in clinical informatics, Dr. Charlotte Hobbs joined Valley Children’s Medical Group in June 2025 as a pediatric hospitalist.
Dr. Hobbs has vast academic teaching and leadership experience, with 22 years of being a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. There, she was a clinical attending in neonatology and emergency medicine. Her research program in the genomics and epidemiology of structural birth defects was funded by the CDC and NIH for more than 20 years. She also held roles such as the Scientific and Medical Director of the state-wide Birth Defect Registry, as the Executive Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research and as the Chief Research Information Officer.
Prior to joining Valley Children’s Medical Group, Dr. Hobbs served as the Vice President and Chief Officer of Clinical Management and Research at the Genomics Institute at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Dr. Hobbs received her medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario as well as a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
