Andres Moreno Rojas, MD

Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Andres Moreno Rojas joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in March 2026 as a pediatric cardiologist.

Dr. Moreno Rojas earned his medical degree from New Granada Military University in Bogotá, Colombia and completed his pediatric residency at its affiliated hospital, Central Military Hospital, followed by an additional pediatric residency at Connecticut’s Children's Medical Center. He went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Rady Children’s Hospital and an advanced fellowship focused on echocardiography and cardiac MRI, as well as a postdoctoral clinical fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery, both at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

During his time at Stanford University, Dr. Moreno Rojas’ research contributions were recognized by the American Heart Association with its Second Century of Science Award. He has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the World Journal of Pediatrics and the Journal of Pediatrics and has contributed to book chapters. He has also edited for journals like the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and has presented posters and oral presentations at various national and international meetings and conferences. In addition to his research, Dr. Moreno Rojas is involved in the community, delivering education presentations to pediatric cardiologists, fellows, students and others and volunteering his time to support patient care initiatives that improve access to care in the community.

Dr. Moreno Rojas is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Echocardiography, American Heart Association, Society of Pediatric Echocardiography and Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
