About Me
Dr. Anahita Emamian is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Emamian has published in Pediatric Blood and Cancer and Pediatrics in Review and presented her research nationally at the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics conferences. She has also presented her research nationally at the Pediatric Hospital Medicine conference and received grant support through the AAP CATCH program to train school nurses in suicide risk assessment.
Dr. Emamian has served on multiple institutional committees, including Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, Scholarly Oversight, Clinical Learning Environment and Wellness, Program Evaluation, Resident Diversity and Resident Recruitment. Additionally, she is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She focuses on obesity medicine, family-centered inpatient care, pediatric hospital medicine, complex care, patient safety and medical education. Her experience involves mentoring residents, leading initiatives in quality improvement and contributing to program development and wellness.
Dr. Emamian earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. She then completed her Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital-UC San Diego. She began her journey with Valley Children’s Healthcare as a pediatric intern and continued there as a resident before serving as chief resident. During her time, she helped oversee clinical operations, refine the educational program, and support resident recruitment. Dr. Emamian also played a key role by helping develop schedules and mentoring residents through their programs.
