About Me
Board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Alok Kumar joined Valley Children’s Specialty Group in October 2025 as a neonatologist.
Dr. Kumar has been the neonatology medical director at Clovis Community Medical Center since 2016, and previously practiced with Perinatal Medical Group. He is also serving as a volunteer associate clinical professor at UCSF School of Medicine, where he continues to contribute to medical education and community health efforts through various commitments and service roles.
Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from Darbhanga Medical College in Laheriasarai, India, and later earned his post graduate degree in pediatrics from Bombay University’s and Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital. He later completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, affiliated with Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the State University of New York, Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Kumar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). His areas of interest include pulmonary lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and necrotizing enterocolitis.
