Haley Bennett, DO
Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I chose Valley Children’s Hospital because of its deep commitment to serving the diverse children and families of the Valley. Growing up in this region, I saw firsthand the impact of Valley Children’s compassionate, community-centered care and the difference it made for families like mine and those around me. I wanted to train in a place where that level of care is not only valued but consistently delivered. The hospital’s strong culture of teamwork, education and advocacy aligns with my goals of providing high-quality, equitable pediatric care where it is needed most.
Hobbies:
When I am not in the hospital, you can usually find me exploring national parks, experimenting in the kitchen or working on a new pyrography piece. I also enjoy giving back to the community through youth mentorship and STEM outreach.
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I have a strong commitment to improving access to preventive care in rural communities throughout the Valley. During my training, I worked in a rural clinic on a quality improvement project aimed at increasing and strengthening routine preventive medicine services such as immunizations and routine well-child visits. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the barriers families face in accessing care and the importance of community-based solutions.
Care Philosophy:
My care philosophy centers on prevention, equity and relationship-based medicine. I aim to meet families where they are, provide proactive pediatric care and address barriers that impact health beyond the clinic. I believe quality care must also be accessible, compassionate and grounded in the needs of the community.
