Christopher Yee, DO

Dr. Christopher YeeWhy did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
Throughout my medical professional journey and while working with local communities, I observed the critical role that healthcare providers play in addressing the unique needs of Central Valley populations. These experiences reinforced my desire to return to my home state and serve the communities that shaped my early life and education. As a medical student rotating at Valley Children’s, I witnessed firsthand the dedication to the community and passion from everyone I encountered. I know that at this residency program I will be well supported in becoming a well-rounded physician.

Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and can be found playing video games, being involved with all things related to basketball such as attending games, playing pick-up or coaching, reading a good book at a coffee shop and exploring new restaurants.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
My research endeavors have been focused on key aspects of public health such as addressing discrepancies between communities in terms of air quality in Colton, CA and analyzing nutritional status of mothers and children in the Philippines.
Advocacy is and will continue to be a passion of mine. During medical school, I spent time advocating at the state capitol for addressing the nutrition gap for low-income families and serving on committees for the local chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics focusing on growing interest in the field of pediatrics for medical students.

Care Philosophy:
As a pediatrician, I understand that I am in a position of immense privilege and I hope to provide excellent and compassionate care, serve as a trusted partner to families and every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive and reach their fullest potential. My goal is to focus on providing equitable healthcare to underserved regions in California, including the Central Valley, where access to quality care remains a pressing concern.
