Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
When I finished my interview with Valley Children’s, I had a gut feeling that this was where I was meant to train. I immediately experienced a genuine sense of support, collaboration and kindness among the residents and faculty, creating a true sense of community. In this environment, the people around me will be deeply invested in my growth and well-being, helping me develop into a compassionate, competent and well-rounded pediatrician. As a California native, it has always been important to me to train and serve in my home state, and I feel grateful to continue my journey here while having the opportunity to stay close to family and friends. I am eager to grow in a program that aligns so closely with both my personal and professional goals.
Hobbies:
I enjoy staying active, especially playing volleyball and spending time outdoors for walks or runs. I also love spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, baking and traveling.
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I spent some time in the local neighborhoods of the Philippines providing care to underserved communities and supporting vaccination campaigns by educating families and raising awareness. This allowed me to be involved in the work that aids in reducing healthcare disparities while empowering children and parents with the knowledge and resources to navigate the system. As I begin residency, I hope to continue this advocacy and explore ways to use data and technology to improve patient care and outcomes.
Care Philosophy:
My care philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child deserves compassionate, high-quality care and every family should feel supported, heard and included in decisions about their child’s health. By working closely with families, I guide healthy habits and serve as a trusted advocate, providing care rooted in empathy, respect and dedication to each child’s unique journey.
