Dr. Annika Cederwall

Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I chose Valley Children’s because of the supportive culture, strong clinical training and the genuine sense of community I felt during my medical school rotation and interview experience. I was especially drawn to the program’s dedication to serving diverse patient populations throughout California, where I grew up, and the opportunity to care for children and families in communities that feel close to home. I also appreciated the program’s emphasis on both excellent pediatric care and resident wellness.

Hobbies:
Outside of medicine, I enjoy gluten-free baking, reading, traveling, skiing and spending time with friends and family.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I have had the opportunity to be involved in community outreach and volunteer work throughout medical school, including coaching adults with Parkinson’s disease and fostering rescue dogs. My academic interests include pediatric subspecialty care, and I have participated in pediatric-focused clinical research and case discussions during my training.

Care Philosophy:
I believe the best pediatric care comes from combining strong medical knowledge with compassion, communication and advocacy for both patients and families. I strive to create an environment where children feel safe and supported while helping parents feel heard and empowered in their child’s care.
