Events and Training

One of the goals of the Valley Children’s Epilepsy Support Program is to educate the community on epilepsy and advocate for patients and families affected by epilepsy. In order to achieve these goals, our program hosts a variety of events and trainings for community groups and families alike.

Have questions about these events and trainings? Email epilepsysupport@valleychildrens.org.

Seizures in School

Valley Children’s understands that a child’s medical condition does not only affect their life at home, but also at school. Valley Children’s offers a comprehensive Epilepsy Training to help navigate epilepsy in the school system and provide support to staff. Trainings focus on the medical, behavioral, cognitive, psychosocial and academic effects of epilepsy.

Our program also offers virtual educational opportunities for school nurses and anyone working on a school campus. CE’s are provided for attendance. Fill out an interest form to request a training.

Annual Epilepsy Carnival

Once a year, Valley Children’s hosts a free carnival aimed to bring together friends and families of those living with epilepsy. This event is family-friendly and an opportunity to educate the community on epilepsy – from seizure tips to answering common questions.

Art for Epilepsy

Art for Epilepsy is a virtual event hosted once every three months. This free activity is an opportunity for families to log online and learn different artistic techniques. With each event, we feature a different painting using art supplies you might already have. Email us at epilepsysupport@valleychildrens.org for more information.

Annual Epilepsy Awareness Day- Event held at Disneyland

Join Valley Children’s as we participate in this free three-day event hosted at the Disneyland Hotel Conference Center. The EXPO will feature non-profit support groups, epilepsy centers, drug and related product manufacturers, seizure dogs and their trainers and epilepsy professionals from around the world.

This event aims to create a network of patient resources while providing educational opportunities for patients and families. Check out the event link to register and to receive updates on the event: https://epilepsyawarenessday.org/
