Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
Valley Children’s has a special place in my heart – I am a Fresno native and was a patient at Valley Children’s growing up. The experience I had with my healthcare team inspired me to pursue medicine and become a pediatrician. I am overjoyed to be back in Fresno serving my community!

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, traveling, backpacking, hiking, and playing tennis.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments: My previous research experiences focused on topics including how certain proteins involved with microtubule formation relate to cancer, as well as the role of diet in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. My previous advocacy involvement was with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. I aided in raising awareness in our community and fundraising for Inflammatory Bowel Disease during Fresno’s annual “Take Steps” walk for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Care Philosophy: Due to my experience as a patient, I realize the importance of the physician-patient relationship. I try to connect with pediatric patients and their caregivers on a personal level. My goal is for every patient and their caregiver to understand and actively participate in discussions about their care.
