Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesia, Dr. Geneva Young joined Children’s Hospital Central California in August 2013 as a pediatric anesthesiologist.
Dr. Young has presented and lectured on various topics in her field. She has published her work in peer-reviewed journals such as Breastfeeding Medicine.
Dr. Young is a member of several professional organizations, including Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and California Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Young received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine, in Hershey, Pa. She did her medicine and surgery internship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. She did her residency in anesthesiology at University of California, Davis, in Sacramento, Calif. Dr. Young completed her fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Los Angeles, Calif. She is an active candidate in pediatric anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Over the years, Dr. Young has provided voluntary pediatric medical services for several international projects, including those in Ethiopia, Guatemala and Mexico. Born and raised in Sacramento, Calif., Dr. Young and her husband enjoy spending time with their two black Labrador retrievers, Tobi and Cocoa, as well as hiking, cycling, snow skiing, swimming/snorkeling and travel.
