Valley Children’s Pediatric Resident Presents Research at International Gastroenterology Conference

(San Diego, CA) – Valley Children’s first-year pediatric resident, Dr. Chloe Kupelian, presented her research in a poster presentation at Digestive Disease Week® in San Diego this week. The presentation, “Probe-Based Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy Offers an In-Vivo Real Time Assessment of the Mucosa in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease,” highlighted research Dr. Kupelian completed with Valley Children’s pediatric gastroenterologist and Pediatric Residency Program Director Dr. Karla Au Yeung.

Digestive Disease Week is an annual conference that provides medical professionals in the field of gastroenterology a networking opportunity to connect with the most up-to-date research and resources. Sponsored by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), the conference welcomes more than 14,000 attendees from all over the world.

Dr. Kupelian is part of Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Class of 2021. A native of Santa Clarita, California, she chose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program with the goal of pursuing a career in pediatric gastroenterology.
