(Madera, California) – The Guilds of Valley Children’s Healthcare are thrilled to announce an extraordinary contribution of $250,000 from long-time Valley Children’s Ambassadors David and Derek Carr to support the work of the Guilds and their endowment for the Guilds Center for Community Health. This generous donation underscores the Carr brothers' commitment to enhancing the health and resources available to children and families in the Central Valley.
“The Central Valley is home for Derek and me, and we want to make sure that this region continues to offer every child with opportunities for a bright future,” said David Carr, NFL Network Analyst and former NFL player. “Both Derek and I have seen first-hand what Valley Children’s has done for our own children and through insightful discussions with President and CEO Todd Suntrapak, we were inspired by the work the Guilds are doing and the impact the Guilds Center for Community Health has on children and their families beyond the walls of the hospital.”
The Guilds Center for Community Health is dedicated to improving social determinants such as physical environment, health behaviors and economic status. According to research, of all the factors that influence our health, only 20% are linked to the clinical care we receive – and 80% are related to these social determinants. The Guilds Center for Community Health is an investment in that 80%.

The Guilds of Valley Children’s play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Valley Children's Healthcare, which is “to continuously improve the health and well-being of children,” through the work of the Guilds Center, which helps children where they live, learn and play.
