Big Hearts for Little Hands

A visit from a friendly face can make a world of difference for a young patient at Valley Children’s Hospital. For groups or individuals who are interested in volunteering, but are not able to commit to a regular volunteer schedule, we welcome you to consider the Big Hearts for Little Hands program, led by our Child Life team. The program was designed for infrequent volunteer visitors and offers an opportunity to volunteer up to three times a year.

What kinds of activities do Big Hearts for Little Hands volunteers do?

We are open to all ideas for activities and invite you to get creative with your volunteer visit. Before you start brainstorming, take a look at our Big Hearts for Little Hands volunteer policies to make sure your activity follows our guidelines.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Host a Bingo game (prizes welcome)
  • Entertain us! (musical, theatrical or dance performances)
  • Share a special skill (arts and crafts, drawing, etc.)
  • Host a small carnival with fun booths and games
