Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program?
This program brings together some of the most brilliant, kind-hearted, and driven people I have ever met, and I knew the training I would receive at this program would make me a better pediatrician. In working with the care team at Valley Children’s, I saw a shared goal of providing access to quality medical care and meeting the educational needs of the community. I was so impressed by the welcoming feel of the hospital when I drove up for the first time during my away rotation and hoped my dream of working here would come true!

Hobbies:
Soccer, karate, drawing, painting, yoga, par 3 golf, hiking/walking with my family, and dogs.

Advocacy and/or Research Accomplishments:
My advocacy interests include domestic violence and child abuse awareness, adverse childhood experiences, sports medicine, and student mentoring. I have been involved in research on the changes in brain structure and behavior from radiation and chemotherapy, studies in fetal care and placental development, and have a background in drug safety side effect reporting.

Care Philosophy:
There is so much breadth and depth to pediatric medicine with the added opportunities to understand and address social issues and provide education. I hope to utilize my prior training and knowledge in domestic violence and child abuse to help children and their families get the help and resources needed to heal. The health of the patient is successful when social hardships are addressed and barriers deconstructed, and I am looking forward to focusing my practice of medicine with these factors in mind.
