Rafael Gonzalez, MD
Hometown:
Salinas, CA
Medical School:
UC Davis
About Me:
I am a Latino physician with a passion for promoting the healthy growth and development of children in the San Joaquin Valley and beyond.
Why I chose Valley Children’s:
When you speak to any parent in the San Joaquin Valley about where they would want to send their child for healthcare, the answer is almost always, “Valley Children’s.” The community members of the region have a great deal of trust in Valley Children’s and I was eager to be part of a team that makes such a profound impact on the youth of California’s Central Valley. This region suffers from a severe physician shortage and some of the worst health disparities in the nation, but I am going to help change that.
Advocacy, Interests and Research Accomplishments:
Serving medically disadvantaged populations, particularly the Latino/a population.
Care Philosophy:
Treat anyone and everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual preference, socioeconomic status.
