Board certified in obstetrics gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Wilbert Fortson joined Valley Children’s Maternal Fetal Center in 2019.
Dr. Fortson is currently an active member in several professional organizations, including the Roger K. Freeman Society and the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He also serves as a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Fortson has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Journal of Maternal-Fetal and Neonatal Medicine.
After receiving his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Fortson went on to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Fortson remained at University of California, Irvine where he served as a clinical instructor for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Prior to his medical career, Dr. Fortson served in the Navy for more than a decade.
